1st Triathlon: Plava Laguna triathlon 5150 Poreč, Croatia

And everything began… yes, that was the time for my 1st Triathlon race, an Olympic Distance on 05th May 2019, while I’m trying to get physically and mental ready for my 1st IRONAMN 70.3 in Calella (Barcelona).

Many lessons learnt from my 1st Triathlon race ever:

  1. Swimming using a wet suit it’s absolutely not likewise “standard swimming” in a swimming pool using just a swimsuit, therefore -> TEST IT BEFORE!!! I did my mistake just buying my 1st wetsuit oneline (Orca S7 size S) and tested it the day before of the race for just 200m close to the shore. I went into panic during the swimming session and luckily, due to the very bad weather (air temp 8 C and water temp 10C) it was shorted to 750m.
  2. Keep with your BiB number!!! Yes, I’m usual to road and mtb cycling race and I’m not absolutely usual to switch between swim-cycle-run… Therefore, keep with you the race number when you begin the cycling session. I began my cycling session without the number, I was still in the transition area when I realized (a guy did for me) I was without it. I went back, put it on and go again… My 1st transition ever time: 8 min and 30 s!!!
  3. Be Happy, have fun and enjoy it…

At the end, I was able to finish it in: 2h 35m 57s.

About the location:
Very nice place, especially for a family vacation. The weather was so bad for us, but the location worth to be visited at least once.
